  6. System Requirements:
  7. --------------------
  8. Windows 3.1.
  9. VGA or better display.  Monchrome vga is ok.
  10. Mouse or other pointing device.
  11.  
  12. To install ClipMate, just run the accompanying
  13. SETUP program from the Program Manager.
  14. (ex: FILE|RUN A: SETUP)
  15.  
  16. The setup program does not require seperate install/target 
  17. directories, meaning that if you've un-zipped the files into
  18. the directory that you want to run from, you can still run the
  19. setup to install the software - it will just skip the copy step.
  20.  
  21. It is strongly recommended that ClipMate be placed in its own 
  22. directory (i.e. C:\CLIPMATE).
  23.  
  24. When the Setup program runs, it will create a ClipMate group
  25. with the ClipMate icon, and icons for documentation.  If you 
  26. decide to move the ClipMate icon to another group, such as the
  27. STARTUP group, you can delete the ClipMate group.
  28.  
  29. NOTE:  ClipMate doesn't alter ANY of your system files.
  30. It creates NO hidden files, puts NO DLLs or VBXs in your
  31. \windows\system directory, and is basically a CLEAN APPLICATION.
  32. ClipMate is EASY to get rid of, if you decide that it doesn't meet
  33. your needs.

  47. You are encouraged to place ClipMate in your Startup Group,
  48. and to assign a hot-key to it.  The hot-key must be done
  49. through the Program Manager, but the group can be changed
  50. during installation.

  52. To assign a hot key (after installation), just click once 
  53. on the icon, and select File|Properties from the Program 
  54. Manager's File Menu.  In the Hotkey field, press a 
  55. key-combination, such as Ctrl+Alt+C.

  115. De-Installation Notes:
  116. ----------------------
  117. These instructions are included in the event that you determine that
  118. ClipMate does not meet your needs, and therefore should be removed
  119. from your system. 
  120.  
  121. Before deleting ClipMate, you should review the contents of 
  122. the OVERVIEW screen in the on-line help.  If you have put ClipMate through
  123. a proper evaluation, then everything on that screen should be familiar to
  124. you.  If this is not the case, then you may want to spend some more time 
  125. evaluating ClipMate.  
  126.  
  127. In the event that you wish to remove ClipMate from your system, 
  128. erase the \windows\clipmate.ini file, as well as all files in the
  129. \clipmate directory (or wherever you put ClipMate), and the
  130. \clipmate\data directory.  
  131. Then remove the ClipMate group from the Program Manager, as well 
  132. as the ClipMate Icon in your Startup group (if you put it there).

  134. Please note that no changes were made to your WIN.INI, System.INI,
  135. or any other Windows system files.  There are no hidden files.

  146. --------------
  147. Norton Desktop for Windows users should upgrade to Norton Desktop 
  148. version 2.0.  
  149. Version 2.0 will work, if you make this change:
  150.   To make ClipMate (and most other programs compiled with a Borland
  151.   compiler) compatible with NDW v 2.0: make a change to the NDW.INI
  152.   file, which is found in the Windows directory.
  153.   In the [NHookSettings] section of NDW.INI, set Int21hHook=0.

  157. There is sometimes a problem in conveting a clipmate data file from
  158. previous releases.  If you run into a General Protection Fault when
  159. converting an old file, you will need to delete, or rename the
  160. file.  If possible, send it to us, so that we can see what is
  161. causing the problem.
